How to get to Witów and book a stay
Rezydencja Kojsówka is in Witów in western Podhale, between Chochołów and Kościelisko, at the mouth of the Chochołowska Valley. The position suits anyone coming to the Tatras from any direction: from Kraków and Nowy Targ the road runs through Czarny Dunajec and Chochołów, and from Zakopane through Kościelisko.
For most guests driving is the most convenient, mainly because of the freedom it gives in planning the day: trips to the valleys, the thermal baths or towards Zakopane often depend on the weather and get decided in the morning. There is a large free car park on the grounds, so there is no hunting for a space along the road and nothing to pay for parking.
Getting here without a car
Witów can be reached by the minibuses running the Zakopane – Chochołów – Czarny Dunajec route. The easiest interchange is Zakopane, which is served by long-distance coaches and by rail. Without your own car, the path up Magura Witowska and the entrance to the Chochołowska Valley are within walking distance; for the thermal baths and Zakopane a minibus or a taxi is the way to go. When you book we are glad to tell you which stop is nearest and what the last stretch looks like.
Booking a date
The quickest way to check availability is the online booking system, reached through the “Check availability” button. It shows current dates and prices, and a booking can be completed there and then. Breakfast is included in the price of every stay; use of the garden hot tub is charged separately.
The phone or e-mail is the better choice if you are planning something the form cannot handle: a larger group, a family celebration, hiring the whole house, arriving with a pet or an unusual arrangement of rooms. With twelve rooms and a limit of 32 guests, that sort of thing is simplest to settle in one conversation.
Driving in winter, and the last stretch of road
Conditions in Podhale can change within a single day in winter, especially after snow. The road to Witów is maintained, but if you are planning to arrive in January or February it is worth having suitable tyres and allowing extra time, particularly if you are coming back in the evening from the baths or the slope. If you are unsure about conditions, just call: we will tell you how it looks here.
The last stretch runs along a local road, narrower than the main route through the village. That is no problem for a car, but with a larger van or a caravan it is better to let us know in advance so we can suggest the easiest approach and where to park. In your satnav, enter the full address: Witów 244 F, 34-512 Witów.
What to ask about before you arrive
If you have particular dietary needs, are travelling with a small child or arriving very late in the evening, it is good to tell us in advance. The same goes for wanting the hot tub on your first day: water heated by fire needs time, so it is worth asking for a time ahead. We are also happy to answer questions about trail conditions and the state of the roads, especially in winter.
When to get in touch
The busiest periods are the winter break, long weekends, and July and August. In those weeks the rooms for three and four go fastest, and for family celebrations weekend dates in May, June and September are often taken several months ahead. Out of season availability is far better, and Witów can be almost empty — which for some guests is the best time to come.
We try to answer messages as quickly as we can, out of season too. If we do not pick up the phone, we are most likely with guests. Just send an e-mail and we will come back to you.
FAQ
Questions about getting here and booking
Where exactly is Rezydencja Kojsówka?
The address is Witów 244 F, 34-512 Witów, western Podhale, between Chochołów and Kościelisko, at the mouth of the Chochołowska Valley. You can check the location on the map on the contact page. Detailed directions go out with the booking confirmation.
How do I get to Witów from Kraków?
The route most people take runs through Nowy Targ, Czarny Dunajec and Chochołów. It is a comfortable drive that avoids the congested approach to Zakopane. The journey time depends on traffic, which can be heavy on Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings.
Is there parking for guests?
Yes, there is a large free car park on the grounds. It is neither guarded nor covered, but there is room for those travelling by motorbike as well. You do not have to park along the road or pay for a space.
Can I get here by public transport?
Yes. Witów is served by the minibuses running the Zakopane – Chochołów – Czarny Dunajec route. The easiest interchange is Zakopane. When you book we will tell you which stop is nearest to the house.
How do I book a stay?
The quickest way is the online booking system, behind the “Check availability” button. It shows current dates and prices and the booking can be confirmed straight away. For larger groups and celebrations the phone or e-mail is a better option.
Can I book by phone?
Yes. The phone is the best choice for anything out of the ordinary: a larger group, a family celebration or hiring the whole house. We can then settle the arrangement of rooms, the number of beds and the practical details. If we do not pick up, just send an e-mail.
What time can I arrive?
Check-in and check-out times are confirmed in the booking e-mail. If you are arriving late in the evening or need to drop off luggage earlier, tell us — it can usually be arranged. For a late arrival in winter it is also worth checking road conditions.
Do I need to mention a pet or a diet when booking?
Yes. It is best to tell us about travelling with a pet and about any dietary needs when you book. That way we can pick a suitable room and prepare breakfast to suit you. We try to accommodate later requests, but it is not always possible.
