People searching for “bed and breakfast near Zakopane” are usually after one specific thing, and for good reason: in Podhale many guest rooms come with a bed and nothing else, and the morning starts with hunting for an open bakery. At Rezydencja Kojsówka breakfast is included in the price of every stay. There is nothing to add on, nothing to book separately and no need to plan a morning drive to the shops.

We serve it every morning in the dining room of the house. There is one rule: no rush. A day in the mountains rarely goes the way it was planned anyway, so breakfast is the moment to settle where you are heading — or to decide that today you are not.

Why breakfast in the price matters

On a family trip it is simple arithmetic: eating out for four every morning can easily cost more than the difference in the room rate. But there is the logistics too. Setting off into the Chochołowska Valley or up Magura Witowska makes sense in the morning, not after an hour spent looking for somewhere that serves food.

For guests coming in winter the argument is simpler still: the Witów Ski slope is right next door, so after breakfast you can be on skis within minutes. You do not have to choose between a proper meal and the first run before it gets busy.

Diets and children

If anyone in your party avoids gluten, lactose or meat, it is best to tell us when you book, or at the latest the day before you arrive. At the scale of a small house that can be taken into account, as long as we know far enough in advance. The same goes for small children and meals served at a different time from the rest of the group.

For larger family gatherings and group trips we agree the breakfast arrangements together. The morning looks rather different for a group leaving for the mountains at eight than it does for wedding guests who were up late the night before.

The rest of the day: the restaurant and the area

The dining room does not close its doors after breakfast. It is also where we host family celebrations and company events. Lunches, dinners and menus for longer stays or larger groups are arranged individually, so if that is your plan it is best to write or call before booking.

In the area, towards Chochołów and Zakopane, you will find inns and restaurants serving regional food. After a day in the Chochołowska Valley, though, many guests come straight back, light the barbecue in the garden and stay on by the fire — which is an argument in itself for staying outside the centre of Zakopane.

The morning before heading into the mountains

In practice, breakfast is when the whole day gets decided. At the table the questions are usually about the weather, conditions on the trails, and whether today is the Chochołowska Valley, Magura Witowska, the thermal baths or Zakopane. Breakfast at Kojsówka is not a big-hotel buffet and is not meant to be. It is a quiet morning in a small house, where guests sit in the same room that hosts family celebrations in the evening.
